01Eight shapes that work

Our Sri Lanka tour packages

Four of these are our published itineraries priced as packages, so you can read the whole route — every night, every drive time — before you ask us anything. The other four are the same routes rebuilt for a particular kind of trip. All of them change once you write to us; that is the point of a tailor-made tour rather than a departure date.

Every from-price below is the bottom of our comfortable tier for that length of trip: two people sharing a room and a car, breakfast included, land only. Reviewed 18 August 2026. If you want the same route done more cheaply or more expensively, the accommodation is the dial — see what a trip here actually costs.

02The line people forget

What is included, and what never is

The differences between operators hide in the second list, not the first. Ask anyone quoting you to itemise the exclusions.

  • In every quote we send

    • The car, for every day of the trip
    • The driver, his fuel, and his own meals and lodging
    • Your accommodation, with breakfast
    • Airport transfers both ways, at whatever hour you land
    • Guide fees at the sites where we have scheduled a guide
  • Never in a package price here

    • International flights — we are a ground operator and you book your own
    • Your ETA, and your travel insurance
    • Most lunches and dinners, unless the quote says otherwise
    • Tips for the driver and guides
    • Site entry tickets, which run about US$100–150 per person over a week

Entry fees are the ones that catch people: Sigiriya alone is about US$35 a head as of August 2026. Add yours up with the calculator.

03What people pay

What a Sri Lanka tour package costs

What people typically pay for a tailor-made trip, as of August 2026, in US dollars, per person per day, for two sharing a room and a car. Land arrangements only — international flights and site entry tickets are extra. December to March is peak and runs at the top of each band.

Typical Sri Lanka tour package prices per person per day, August 2026
TierPer person, per dayWhat it buys
Budget-friendly$55 – $85Family guesthouses with breakfast, a shared or part-time driver, buses and trains where they make sense. A week comes out around US$390–580 per person.
Comfortable$125 – $195Small hotels and the odd tea-estate night, a private car and driver throughout. The tier most of our travellers choose, and the one every from-price on this page is quoted at. Ten days runs about US$1,250–1,950 per person.
Premium$340+Boutique hotels and colonial bungalows, guides at the major sites, no compromise legs. From roughly US$2,400 per person for a week.
Entry tickets, on top$100 – $150Per person for a typical week: Sigiriya about $35, Dambulla $10, the Temple of the Tooth $15, one safari $40–45. Never included in a package price here, and quoted separately so you can see it.

04Four steps, no booking engine

How booking works

  1. 01

    You tell us the dates

When you are coming, how many of you there are, roughly what you want to spend per person, and what you actually care about — ruins, wildlife, surf, temples, doing very little. A rough month and a rough idea is enough to start.

  2. 02

We send back a day-by-day route

Not a brochure: the order of the nights, where you sleep, and real door-to-door drive times rather than map estimates, which on Sri Lankan roads run about a third short. We read every email ourselves and normally reply the same day.

  3. 03

    You pull it apart

Swap a park, drop a night, add a beach, move the whole thing a week later. Almost every trip we arrange starts as one of the published itineraries and then changes. It goes back and forth until it is right.

  4. 04

    Only then is anything booked

Nothing is held or paid for until the whole route is agreed, and there is no online booking engine here to press the wrong button on. If the shape is wrong we will say so — three regions in four days is a package about driving, and we would rather lose it than sell it.

06Straight answers

Questions people ask before they enquire

  • How much does a Sri Lanka tour package cost?

As of August 2026, tailor-made land arrangements run roughly US$55–85 per person per day budget-friendly, US$125–195 comfortable with a private car and driver throughout, and from about US$340 premium, based on two people sharing. In package terms that is from US$620 per person for five days, US$870 for seven, US$1,250 for ten and US$1,750 for fourteen, at the comfortable tier. International flights and site entry tickets are on top.

  • How much does a 2 week holiday in Sri Lanka cost?

For the land arrangements, roughly US$760–1,150 per person budget-friendly, US$1,750–2,700 comfortable with a private car and driver, and from about US$4,800 premium, for two people sharing. Add your flights, and add about US$200–300 a head for entry tickets across a fortnight — Sigiriya alone is US$35. Those figures are for our published fourteen-day route and were reviewed in August 2026.

  • How many days are enough for a trip to Sri Lanka?

Ten, if you only ask once. Five covers one half of the island and nothing more — the Cultural Triangle and Kandy, or the south coast and Galle, never both. Seven reaches the hill country but gives you one night everywhere and about fifteen hours of driving. Ten lets you have two nights in three of the stops. Fourteen adds a second region, the east coast or Anuradhapura properly, without amputating the first.

  • Which is the best month to visit Sri Lanka?

There are two monsoons and they run opposite each other, so there is no bad month, only a wrong coast. December to March is the dry window for the west, the south coast and the hill country, and it is when most of these packages are built. May to September suits the east — Trincomalee, Arugam Bay — and the Cultural Triangle holds up year-round. April and September and October are the changeovers and are a gamble either way. Our best-time guide breaks it down region by region.

  • What is included in a Sri Lanka tour package?

Ours cover the car, the driver, fuel, the driver's own meals and lodging, your rooms with breakfast, airport transfers both ways and guide fees at the sites where we have scheduled a guide. Not included: international flights, the ETA, travel insurance, most lunches and dinners, tips, and site entry tickets, which add about US$100–150 per person over a week. Ask any operator to itemise the exclusions rather than the inclusions — that is where the differences hide.

  • What is the best tour company in Sri Lanka?

Nobody can answer that honestly about themselves, so here is how to judge one instead. Every travel agency and tour operator in Sri Lanka is legally required to register with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and to renew annually — ask to see it. Ask whether the guides hold a current SLTDA licence and which grade, because a National Tourist Guide Lecturer and a site guide are different things. Ask whether the vehicle carries the tourist-transport licence and insurance class, which is not ordinary private cover. And ask for a written day-by-day itinerary with real drive times before you pay anything. Ours is Clever Hub (Private) Limited, Sri Lankan company registration PV00308620, with the certificate of incorporation published on our about page.

  • Do your holiday packages include flights?

No. We are a Sri Lankan ground operator and we quote land arrangements only, so you book your own flights. It usually costs less and leaves you the choice of routing, but it is worth knowing what you give up: a flight-inclusive package bought from a UK or EU tour operator carries financial protection such as ATOL, and land-only arrangements booked direct with an overseas operator do not. Travel insurance with end-supplier-failure cover is the sensible answer.

  • Do you offer group tour packages for Sri Lanka?

For private groups, yes — families, friends travelling together, clubs and wedding parties. Eight to fourteen people fit a minivan or a mini coach, and per head it is the cheapest way to see the island because the vehicle cost divides. What we do not sell is a fixed departure you join with strangers. Book earlier than a couple would: the small hotels worth staying in have six rooms, not sixty.
