Who you are
The island changes shape depending on who you bring

01Why it matters
Party size changes the price more than anything else
Two costs dominate a Sri Lankan trip: a room and a vehicle. Both cost the same whether one person uses them or four, so the per-head figure falls sharply as the party grows. It is the single biggest lever on your budget, and it is why we plan each of these groups differently.
| Party | Driver, per head | What we change |
|---|---|---|
| Solo | $70 | Trains and buses for the long legs; a driver only where there is no line. |
| Couple | $35 | A car for the whole trip — it is the point where it starts to make sense. |
| Family of four | $18 | Shorter driving days and a villa instead of two hotel rooms. |
| Six friends | $20 (van) | A van, and one bill split six ways. |
Based on a US$70/day sedan and a US$120/day van, August 2026. Accommodation divides the same way — see what a trip costs or run your own numbers in the calculator.
No obligation
Tell us roughly what you want.
A rough month and a rough idea is enough to start. We will come back with a shape for the trip, and you can pull it apart from there.
